Bible journaling fun fold tag art ~ Luke 23 31

This project is Bible journaling fun fold tag art with a vintage finish.  This one incorporates stamping both onto cardstock and onto the thin bible pages.

Sentiment:

Adding art to bible pages adds beauty and interest.

Bible journal art with stamping and watercolor.

Hello and welcome.  Today, I am sharing bible journaling, specifically, watercolor art to add to my bible pages.

Sentiments:
Prayer changes things.
He will cover you with his feathers and under his wings, you will find refuge.

Sentiments:
She is strong ~ Proverbs 31:25
Tomorrow needs you.

This was a joy to make.  Adding art to my bible is a pretty way to complement writings and the words.

Crafty girl planner page art with Copic markers.

Hello, it's Gaylynn.  Today, I am sharing a way to add art to your planner pages, journals or bible journaling.

Sentiment:  Hello crafty girl.

This journal page incorporates stamping, Copic coloring and fussy cutting.  I used a planner gal stamp and sentiment as the focus to decorate the margins of my January page.  Copic markers were used in colors that complement the existing page art.  I chose to fussy cut the crafty girl and die-cut the sentiment in layers.  To finish, I adhered everything to the margins.

I made a quick video tutorial showing the process for this project.

Bible journal bookmark tag with stamping and Copic markers.

Today, I am showing a way to add art to a bible journal, using Copic markers and stamping.

Sentiment:  With God all things are possible ~ Matthew 19:26

This is one way to add art to the thin bible pages without damaging the backside of the page.  Using a separate trimmed stamped panel is a great addition for use with these mediums.  See below for details and a video tutorial.

For more of my bible journaling posts, see bible journal.
For similar planner art techniques, see planner.

Here are helpful tips for creating this.  To begin, pre-cut and stamp your artwork onto cardstock.  Then, die-cut or trim the cardstock.  Next, color in your stamping using markers that are compatible with the ink used for the stamping.  Then, fussy cut or trim any other pieces.  Finally, add cording for the bookmark and/or adhere the art onto the bible page.

I made a quick video tutorial showing the process for this project.

Bible journal art with stamping and Copic markers.

Hi there.  Today, I am sharing a bit of art for my bible journal page.  I use stamping along with Copic markers.

Sentiment:
Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
and lean not on your own understanding.
Proverbs 3:5

Sometimes, I like to extend my papercraft projects to other things, like bible journaling.  I have found that stamping and inks can be challenging to use on the thin bible pages.  One of my favorite ways to add art to the margins of my bible journal is by stamping and coloring on cardstock.  Then, cutting out the art to adhere to the page.
I love this girl with rosaries and the inspirational message.  I knew it had to be part of my journal.

Bible journal stamping + Prima chalk edger watercolor.

For Watercolor Wednesday, I am sharing bible journal stamping along with Prima chalk watercolor.

Sentiment:  The Lord hears when you call.

Here is a way to add art for bible journaling.  I am showing a way to add bible journal stamping along with Prima chalk edger colors for watercolor.  This type of watercolor is great for the thin bible pages and for stamping onto dry surfaces.  After the page was dry, I lightly iron the page to remove some of the wrinkles.  Then, I stamped using different colors of the Prima chalk edgers.

The thing I like most about these chalk inks is that the ink will not bleed through to the back of the page.  You see a light shadow, but no more than the existing page print shadow.

The full article and tutorial are up on the Unity blog.
I also made a quick video tutorial showing the process for this project.

Bible Journaling Tab ~ He is risen Mark 16:6

Here is a bible journal page with a floral vellum flip up tab just in time for Easter.

He is risen ~ Mark 16:6

For this bible page, I wanted to add stamping and coloring, using Copic markers.  Since the Copics bleed through to the next page (and then some), I made a flip up tab to add stamping and Copics.
I usually use, white cardstock.  But this time, I used vellum instead.  I like to stamp on one side of the vellum and add color to the opposite side of the stamping.

I have a few blog posts and video tutorials on my bible journaling art process.

To view  my other bible journaling projects, see bible journal.

I made a quick video tutorial showing the process for this project.

Bible Journaling with Foiling & Copics My Soul Psalm 62:1

Hi.  Today, I am sharing a little bit of bible journal art.  This was made with stamping, foiling and Copic markers.

My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from Him.  Psalm 62:1

Sometimes, I like to add art as part of my bible journaling.  This beautiful floral cross and psalm is part of the Unity stamp release this week.  I thought it would be a perfect addition to my journaling bible.

To begin, I stamped and heat embossed the images onto vellum.  Then, using a preheated laminator, to add the beautiful pink foil.
I have a few blog posts and video tutorials on the foiling process as well as other bible journal projects.  The links to those are at the bottom of this post.

I made a quick video tutorial showing the process for this project.

An inspirational planner page with Copics & stamping.

Since it is the beginning of November, I thought it would be fun to add to my planner monthly cover page.

I love the inspirational sentiment and the beautiful light bulb filled with flowers, included in this month's Uniquely Unity stamp set.  With a little Copic coloring and fussy cutting, this was ready to accent my planner page.

Here is a quick video tutorial on the process.

I have other journaling and planner art posts.  For more projects similar to this, see the
Planner and Bible Journal categories here on my blog.  Many also have video tutorials.

Planner art ~ USA map with flowers and feathers.

For my July planner cover pages, I decided to add a USA map, covered in flowers.  In honor of Independence Day, this map, along with feathers, were the perfect decorations.

Sentiment:  ... and so the adventure begins.

For the page art, I first colored and fussy cut the USA with colored pens.  Then, I used Copic markers for the map background and for the feathers.  The bottom flower is original planner art, which I added color to.

Here is a quick video tutorial showing how the pages were put together.

This is the two-page layout.  The right side is original planer art, but I added feathers to match.
Most of the art was pre-stamped and colored onto separate cardstock and then added to the existing planner pages.
The colored pens and the Copics would otherwise bleed through the pages.

Most of my journaling and other details are added off-camera.  I am sharing ideas, here, for sprucing up your planner pages.  See my related posts using stamping in planners and journals, below.

Bible Journal Florals ~ Unity Blog Hop with Graciellie Design

Welcome to the June 2018 blog hop with Unity Stamp Co. and Graciellie Design.

Here is my bible journal page using the lovely flowers and scripture.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy & peace in believing, so that you may abound in hope through the power of the holy spirit.  Romans 15:13

For this bible page, I show ways to work with vellum along with stamping and coloring.  I used Copic markers and colored on the opposite of the stamping.  This leaves a softer look to the coloring.  However, either side works depending on your preference.

I made a quick video tutorial on these bible journal florals and scripture art.

Here is the side view of the page.

Bible Journaling for MCT Whatever Wednesday

Hi, it's Gaylynn with another project for My Creative Time's Whatever Wednesday.

Sentiment:  Fill your heart with love.

MCT products used:

Easter was the inspiration for this project.  I felt inspired to create in my bible journal.  For this, I used MCT stamps and dies along with Prima chalk ink.  For the thin bible pages, these inks stamp beautifully and they do not bleed through to the back side of the page.  Hooray!!!

I stamped the wreath, which to me symbolized the crown of thorns.  Then I stamped the inspirational sentiment along with sprigs and tiny die-cut hearts.

Here is another look:

Planner flower art embellishments.

Today, I am sharing a couple of my planner pages which include stamp art for added embellishments.

These are April's cover pages.  I wanted to add these pretty pink flowers here and there.  I used stamps which were designed for bullet journaling.  But, these work perfectly in planners, bible journaling and card making as well.

The flowers were stamped onto cardstock and then colored with Copic markers.  I then fussy cut the flowers for page accents.  The journaling and planning details will be added later.

Here is a quick video tutorial for these planner flowers.
YouTube:  Gaylynn NeatThingsBtq

Here are the pages a little closer.

My planner includes lots of inspirational sentiments, which I love, especially the ones in gold.  I added the flowers, a stamped sentiment and a die-cut heart.  The journaling will be added later.

Lamb of God Bible Journal with Copics and Distress Ink

The new February 2018 sentiment kit from Unity has just released.  It includes beautiful sentiments and the sweetest little lamb.  I knew that it had to be part of my bible journaling.

Sentiment:  You are a lamb of God.

Today, I combined Copic markers and distress ink in light shades for the lamb and the sentiment panel.  I used Copics on the lamb and lightly shaded the sentiment in distress ink, using complementing colors.  A die-cut heart was added.  This was so easy to do.  I just cut out the lamb and hearts and adhered them down.

Here is a quick video tutorial on how I put this page together.

For bible journal art, I tend to color on separate cardstock and then add it to the page.  But, I do experiment with different techniques for decorating the thin bible pages with art.
To see more of my bible art projects, see Bible Journal.

If you would like me to demonstrate a particular bible journal technique or if you have other suggestions for bible art, please share by commenting below.  I would love to hear from you.

This is a two page bible journal watercolor project.

Sentiments:

I used watercolor paper to stamp the flowers and then used watercolor.  Once dry, white Sharpie accents were added for more interest.

Here are the two pages a little closer.

Bible journal or planner art tab.

Here is a decorated bible journal page with stamped art.

My grace is sufficient...  2 Corinthians 12:9

My Creative Bible is the brand that I use and it includes journaling space on the sides of each page.  But sometimes, there is not enough room for the full image or sentiment that I want to include.  So I make foldable tabs for some of the art.
These panels are a favorite solution of mine.

This panel is scored and adhered on one end, allowing the tab to fold over to read the text on the page.  I just do not like to cover the words permanently.

Another great use for them is for stamping and coloring with mediums which may bleed through to the back of thin bible pages.  For this example, the stamping was colored in with Copic markers onto cardstock.  Adding this panel protects the bible page and the page behind is undamaged and unstained.

For this page, I used a stamp designed for planner art and paired it with an inspirational sentiment stamp from a different kit.  Mixing up stamps and using them in different ways is another favorite thing of mine.

I made a quick video tutorial for this bible page tab.

I have posted a series of articles on ways to decorate bible journals.  I have experimented with different mediums for use in the process.  To read more posts about my process and projects, click bible journal.

Sentiment:  Enjoy every little thing that comes your way.
