Watercolor contrast Iris flower card tutorial ~ sympathy

This is a sympathy card featuring a beautiful Iris flower.  I used stamping along with Sakura Koi watercolor with contrast to create this.  The added sentiment is great for showing care and concern.

 Sentiment:
May you find comfort in loving memories, strength in the support of those who care and hope in each new day.

Helpful tips:

Here are helpful tips for creating this watercolor Iris flower card.  To begin, stamp the Iris flower onto watercolor paper.  Also, stamp the sentiment.  Next, using a paint brush, add watercolor in dark blue in tiny sections where there would be shadows or creases.  Then, with a damp brush, blend out from the dark areas to move the color into the petal areas.  Finally, once dry, trim or die-cut the Iris panel and layer the card, to finish.

I made a quick video tutorial showing the process for this project.

Planner flower art embellishments.

Today, I am sharing a couple of my planner pages which include stamp art for added embellishments.

These are April's cover pages.  I wanted to add these pretty pink flowers here and there.  I used stamps which were designed for bullet journaling.  But, these work perfectly in planners, bible journaling and card making as well.

The flowers were stamped onto cardstock and then colored with Copic markers.  I then fussy cut the flowers for page accents.  The journaling and planning details will be added later.

Here is a quick video tutorial for these planner flowers.

Here are the pages a little closer.

My planner includes lots of inspirational sentiments, which I love, especially the ones in gold.  I added the flowers, a stamped sentiment and a die-cut heart.  The journaling will be added later.

Planner art loving life.

My new planner got a little decoration with the new Unity planner gals.

Sentiment:  Success is loving life and daring to live it.

The Planner Gal line from Unity includes a girl and a sentiment.  These fit nicely in planners, journals, bible journaling and on cards.  I dolled up September in my planner with this pretty girl.

I made a quick video tutorial on the accents.

Advent Calendar Banner ~ Pockets Updated

These are just a few of the updated Advent calendar pockets I made this week.
Recently, I updated some panels to include larger numbers and more cute images.
These pockets were made to hold treats, notes, pictures, lottery tickets and gift cards to name a few.

There is A LOT of Unity in all 25 pocket panels. Here are sample panels.

My favorite Unity Stamp Company kit is Advent. And I used nearly every stamp in the set for this banner.  The quotes and sentiments are very meaningful.
I love that.
The other two Unity kits that are seen throughout my {large} project are Tags, Glorious Tags as well as the set Advent{full} Season.

Other supplies for my project include My Creative Time 3x3 Fancy Envelope Die, Ranger archival ink, distress markers, BasicGrey paper, punches and various embellishments.

2013 Inspirational Desk Calendar

For ringing in the new year, I've created an inspirational desk calendar using some of my favorite products.  I really love how it turned out.  This has six double sided page tiles that feature months from January through December of 2013.  Two of the things I love are seasonal holidays and inspirational sentiments.  So, I incorporated both into these pages.  I kept it small, 5" x 4.5", and added 1" binder rings from Office Depot.  This allowed it to become self standing.

Here are the individual calendar pages.

There is much detail in this hand crafted treasure.  The tools used include:

From Unity Stamp  Company:
Welcome To My Life
Thoughts of the Heart

From My Creative Time:
XL Label Die
Inspiring Words and Inspiring Words (Accents)
Just Simply Live
Turn That Frown Upside Down
Bloom Where You Are Planted
Teeny Tags
Floral Sentiments
All Around Everything Accessories

From Jaded Blossom:
Halloween Treats
Winter Candies
Thanksgiving Kisses

There would be too many pictures to display each page.  The detail would show up much better with closeups.  Perhaps I will revisit some of these tiles later in separate posts as the holidays near.

I welcome your comments and would love for you to follow my new crafty blog.  Happy New Year to you and yours!
