Best wishes girl ~ Simple tag card layers + Copic markers

  Hello.  Today, I am sharing a way to make simple tag card layers with stamps and dies.  This also incorporates Copic coloring.

Creating with simple layers helps to add softness and texture to card making.  I used soft shades of blue for color.

Wishing happiness houses card ~ MFT Sketch Challenge 574

 Hello.  Gaylynn here.  Today's card was inspired by the My Favorite Things sketch challenge 574.

Sentiment:

Wishing you every happiness.

This is a nice card for new neighbors, a house warming, new home, moving, going away and more.  I used a mix of dies and a stamp for my interpretation of the sketch.  A neighborhood scene was what I was going for.  Little trees were made from patterned paper and the houses were paired over a grassy area.  The sky was stenciled with clouds.  

Watercolor sailboat scene ~ Prima water soluble oil pastels & stamping

 Today, I am sharing oil pastel watercolor with sailboat stamping.  This is a large peaceful stamp that works perfectly with the watercolor.

Sentiment:

Wherever you are, you will always be in my heart.

Helpful tips:

Here are helpful tips for making this card.  First, trim and score the card base and the layers.  Next, stamp the sailboat scene onto the smooth side of a watercolor paper panel.  Next, onto a palette, make color swatches from the oil pastel crayons.  Then, brush clear water over a section of the stamping.  Also, using a wet brush, mix a pastel color to liquefy it and then apply color in sections.  Repeat for all of the sections.  Apply multiple coats to some areas if preferred, drying between sections and layers.  Once dry, assemble the card, to finish.

Map Cards ~ Simple Stamping with Wonky Paper Layers Tutorial

Today, for Technique Time at Unity, I share two cards showing simple stamping with wonky paper layers.

Sentiment:  Here for you always.

Here are helpful tips for creating these cards using simple stamping with wonky paper layers.  To begin, for each card, trim or die-cut two background layers using coordinating patterned paper.  Then, stamp the map onto the top paper layer.  Next, stamp and trim the sentiment flag with Copic friendly ink.  Also, stamp the heart onto the map.  Then, color in the heart and the sentiment with Copic markers (or your color choice).  Optional, tie cording around the sentiment flag for an added accent if you want.  Next, adhere the back panel to the card base at a diagonal.  Then, adhere the top map panel over the bottom panel in a straight alignment or at an angle.  Finally, add the sentiment panel and adhesive dots, to finish the card.

Amazing things butterfly favor box or gift holder.

Hello and Happy New Year!

Today, the My Creative Time team is sharing favor wrap projects.  Here is a small favor box decorated with a butterfly and an encouragement sentiment.

Sentiment:  You will do amazing things.

This is great for many occasions like good luck, graduation, going away, new job, congratulations, encouragement or as a gift card holder or party favor.

To begin, I die-cut the favor box from patterned paper.  I also die-cut the butterfly.  Then, I stamped the sentiment onto the front panel.  Everything was assembled.  Finally, tissue paper was included with a small gift token.

Supplies:  My Creative Time Present Box Die and Amazing Things; Ranger jet black archival ink, Ranger wonder tape, BasicGrey Plumeria paper and tissue paper.

Stay in touch mailbox card with Copic markers.

Today, I am sharing a sweet mailbox themed card featuring a pretty mailbox with flowers along with flag accents.

Sentiment:  Stay in touch.

For this card, I used a mix of patterned papers from one paper pad.  I die-cut the bigger flags and the background map layer.  And for the tiny flags, I easily hand cut them and used them for added card accent.  This card is great for many occasions like miss you, thinking of you, good luck, going away, moving and more.

Miss you bird card in Copics.

Today, I am sharing a thinking of you or miss you card with a bird and with butterflies.

Sentiment:  Distance means so little when someone means so much.

For this card, I used simple light colors in Copic markers for the bird.  The background patterned paper and the sentiment were die-cut.  I love the light against the dark background and the simplicity of this design.

Vintage VW Bug Card with Ink Blending & Copics

Here is a vintage style car card for encouragement, moving, good luck, graduation & more.

Sentiment:  Take pride in how far you have come and have faith in how far you will go.

For this card, I used a couple of techniques.  For the background, I stamped leaves in three different colors for ink blending results.  And for the car layer, I used Copic markers for color.  Then, I covered the VW with a layer of gloss.  It shines much more than the photo shows.

Forever Remembered Memorial Handmade Card

Here is a heartfelt dove sympathy card.

Sentiment:  Forever Remembered

This is a special card, inspired by the one year anniversary of my lovely Momma's passing.  She will definitely be forever remembered and loved.  She loved pastels, birds, pretty things and most of all her family.  It helped me to make a card with things that I know she loved.

For crafty friends, I made a quick video tutorial for this dove card showing how to add a frame from distress oxide ink.

A watercolor nautical card for Unity's SMAK Saturday.

Today, this nautical watercolor card is up on the Unity blog for the SMAK Saturday post.

Sentiment:  Sometimes in the waves of change we find our true direction.

It delights me to see tropical stamps, especially when they can be used in different mediums and for different occasions, not to mention for both guys and gals.  This is a mixed media style used, in this case, for card making.  I layered the net and the ship wheel stamping onto watercolor paper and then added watercolor.

Here is a tropical themed thank you card.

It features a beautiful whale and tiny boat on the horizon.

Sentiment:  Thank you for being part of my journey.

This is a tropical scene with a sunset background and ocean waters.

I used a heartfelt thank you sentiment.

Lately, there are so many people to thank for lots of different reasons, near and far.

This is just one of many cards which I shipped to my lovely mama for her to send out to some amazing well deserved people along the way.
