2 bookmark tags ~ MCT Made In Minutes

Hi there.  Today, the My Creative Time team is sharing project ideas which were made in minutes.  Here are my fun bookmarks with a heart topper.  These can double as gift tags as well.

Sentiments:
Read, relax and unwind.
Sorry my night is all booked.

The heart topper doubles as a page holder as it opens at the bottom and closes over the page.

These gift tags were made from patterned paper die-cuts.  Any cardstock or patterned paper works for this.  The corresponding stamps fit perfectly onto the bookmark front.  No coloring is necessary for these quick and easy bookmark tags.  These make great little gifts for the book lover or for gift packaging tags.

Supplies:  My Creative Time Always Love To Read stamps and dies; mini Misti, Ranger jet black archival ink, BasicGrey Lucille paper, hole punch, hemp cording, foam tape.

Please visit Emma's My Creative Time blog for more inspiration.

Enjoy your day.

Bible journal bookmark tag with stamping and Copic markers.

Today, I am showing a way to add art to a bible journal, using Copic markers and stamping.

Sentiment:  With God all things are possible ~ Matthew 19:26

This is one way to add art to the thin bible pages without damaging the backside of the page.  Using a separate trimmed stamped panel is a great addition for use with these mediums.  See below for details and a video tutorial.

For more of my bible journaling posts, see bible journal.
For similar planner art techniques, see planner.

Here are helpful tips for creating this.  To begin, pre-cut and stamp your artwork onto cardstock.  Then, die-cut or trim the cardstock.  Next, color in your stamping using markers that are compatible with the ink used for the stamping.  Then, fussy cut or trim any other pieces.  Finally, add cording for the bookmark and/or adhere the art onto the bible page.

I made a quick video tutorial showing the process for this project.

Never Stop Dreaming ~ Day 2 MCT 80th Edition Sneak Peek

The MCT team is sharing sneak peeks of the 80th Edition release.  Here is my heart dream catcher gift tag for Day 2 of the sneaks.

Sentiment:  Never stop dreaming.

MCT products used:

This heart dream catcher is colored with Copic markers BG49, BG32 and Y21.  But, for the tag background, I blended with a wild honey distress ink pad.  For the splatters, I tapped ink from the Ranger reinker in jet black over the honey color.  Because that left marks that bled through to the back side of the tag, I trimmed a white tag background panel.  Everything was layered to finish.

***Sneak Peek giveaway!*** We will be giving away the sets we are showcasing each day to ONE lucky winner! Angel girl vintage gift tag or bookmark.

This is a vintage style gift tag or bookmark featuring an angel girl with an uplifting quote.

Sentiment:
She made broken look beautiful & strong look invincible.  She walked with the universe on her shoulders & made it look like a pair of wings.

The flowers are made from dies and a repurposed dictionary page and then fastened with brass brads.  I distressed the layers and the flowers for a vintage look.

Here is a quick video tutorial for this vintage angel tag.

This is one of the newest Unity images.  I am a sucker for inspirational and encouraging sentiments like this.  Here is a closer look at the tag:

Funny & snarky gift tags or bookmarks.

Here is a set of gift tags or bookmarks offering up snarky and funny puns.

On each of these, I use a different technique.  I made a quick tutorial for each for creative ways to accent gift tags.

This iron is perfect with these fun sentiments.
For this tag, I made a handmade topper using a scored die-cut.

Here is how I made the tag and topper:  Gaylynn NeatThingsBtq

Sentiment:  You're steamin' hot.

This fun tag was given a steam cloud with stamping and embossing.
Here is a how I made the steam effect.

CardMaker Magazine & Quietfire Design Blog Hop ~ Card & Gift Tag

Hello, it's Gaylynn with two matching projects for the blog hop with CardMaker Magazine and Quietfire Design.

I want to extend thanks to Suzanne Cannon with Quietfire Design store for sponsoring this wonderful hop.  These beautiful red rubber cling stamps are designed and lettered by Suzanne.

No automatic alt text available.

I get to make something pretty with her sentiment stamps.
And so, for the handmade card and gift tag, I made a mixed media style base in watercolor and with wet embossing using a houndstooth stencil.

Once dry, I blended two colors of distress ink onto the background.  To soften the look, I added a heat embossed vellum sentiment panel.  It was what I was going for, perfect for Christmas, yet in alternative colors.

Here are the stamp sets that I used in my projects.

Bible Journal Art Tab Tutorial

Here is a bible journal page with a way to add an art tab and still be able to read the bible text.

Sentiment:  With brave wings she flies.

Sometimes, markers and ink used in art and stamping can bleed through to the back of bible pages.
Here is a simple way to make a folding art or journal panel tab to add to your page.
I have a few other bible journal posts trying out different techniques and products with the thin bible pages.

There are products and techniques which are easier on the thin pages.  But, for times when those are not on hand, this is another way to make the pages pretty or even to add space for your own bible journaling.
For my bible journal posts here, I share the art aspect and keep my personal journal writing to myself.

Here is a quick tip video tutorial for this project.

I decided to make a bookmark / gift tag for the occasion.

Sentiment:  A good book is always better with something hot.

Thanksgiving Leaves Gift Tags & Tutorial

Today, I am up on the Unity blog with this Thanksgiving themed project.
These are some of the tags created for my Thanksgiving table favors this  year.

These can be tied to treats, wine, baked goods and more.  They can also be used as a bookmark.

A closer look at the tag.  Each are a little different because of the watercolor and accents.

As a wine tag.  The tags are great to have on hand for wine gifts.

The watercolor process for these tags:
1. Use lightest color first, then dry.
2. Add a darker layer, then dry.
3.  Add an accent color, then dry.
4.  With the watercolors you used, tap the wet brush to make the splatters, then dry.
5.  Add white splatters and glitter glue to the leaves to accent even more, then dry.

Peace Love Hope Christmas Tag or Bookmark

Here is a Christmas holiday tag in non-traditional colors.

Sentiment:  Peace Love Hope

I like to have tags like these ready for holiday gifts, wine bottles, baked gifts, decoration and more.
This one has a little blank tag at the top to write to and from.  I like to add these tiny tags so that the big tag can be reused by the recipient, if they choose to do so.

I used watercolor on this for a soft and imperfect look.

Tiny Mountains Birthday Gift Tag

Here is a birthday gift tag with a little scene of tiny mountains.

Sentiment:  Breathe deep. Enjoy life. Happy Birthday.

This tag inspires me to get outside.
I used lots of different die-cuts on this one.  The mountains were colored and then trimmed to place into the little scene above.
I think this tag can be easily made for more occasions than just for birthday.
