Family love chair card ~ clean and simple with Copics

Today, I am sharing another card using the fun home and family stamps in the May 2020 Unity kit of the month.  I love the chair and pillows included with the family sentiments.

Sentiment:  Family.  I love our family and I love you.

This card was made using teal and gray colors.  I used the comfy chair and throw pillows.  Plus, I added one of the sentiments to a pillow by cutting the stamp and then stamping shorter word sections.  The family sentiment flag was hand-trimmed.  For color, Copics were used in layers for a soft look.  And the background is a piece of dry embossing, leftover from another project.  Finally, I fussy cut the pieces and layered it all to finish.

I kept this card clean and simple CAS style.  This could easily be made for other occasions like house warming or birthday just by changing out the sentiments.

Here is another look.

Supplies:  Unity Stamp Company Beginning of Everything {May 2020 Kit of The Month}; MFT A2 dies, paper trimmer, double-sided flat and foam tape, Copic markers 0, W1, W3, W5, C1, BG32, BG10, B0000, B01, B14.

Hello.  Today, the My Creative Time team is sharing birthday themed projects.  Here is my tropical style card with flamingos against simple watercolor and added vellum foliage.

Sentiment:  Hello gorgeous.  Happy birthday

This card was designed to be cheerful and bright.  I made a tropical scene with a mix of two sets, mixed color mediums and with vellum leaf accents.  Good day sunshine!

To make this, trim or die-cut a background panel from watercolor paper and then add simple watercolor swipes.  Next, stamp the flamings and the sentiment.  Add color to the flamingos.  I used Copics.  Next, die-cut the flamingos and trim a sentiment flag.  Also, die-cut accents in vellum or watercolored paper.  Finally, layer it all to create the scene that you want.

Watermark background card with white accents + tutorial

Hello.  For Technique Time at Unity, I am sharing a watermark background card with added accents in white and gray.

Sentiment: Just roll with it.

Adding a watermark background is one way to add soft stamping detail to a card.  It can easily be made to coordinate with the main card focus.

Here are helpful tips for creating a watermark background for a card.  First, trim or die-cut a background panel from colored cardstock.  Then, stamp and trim the sentiment panel.  Next, using the mini Misti stamp positioner and VersaMark ink or watermark ink, stamp the toilet paper rolls and the hearts all around the cardstock panel.  Optional, repeat the stamping to get the best stamp impression.  Next, add white accents to the tp rolls using a colored pencil.  Also, add gray color accents to the roll on the sentiment panel to create a bit of dimension.  I used gray Copic markers, but gray colored pencils would work, also.  Finally, layer the card, add the sentiment tag and the twine, to finish.

I made a quick video tutorial showing the process for this project.

Watercolor swoosh card background with colorful stamping.

Hello.  For Technique Time at Unity, I am showing a watercolor swoosh background technique along with colorful stamping.

Sentiment: So well done.

A watercolor swoosh background can be made easy with a one or two colors along with simple stamping. This is an easy way to add softness to card making.

Here are helpful tips for creating a watercolor swoosh background card. To begin, pre-cut or die-cut a watercolor paper panel to fit your card base. Next, mix two different colors of watercolor onto a palette. Then, using a wide paintbrush, dab the brush into one of the colors and make a swoosh from left to right. Optional, add layers of color to the swoosh if you want to. Now, repeat the swoosh with another color below the first swoosh, overlapping slightly. Next, heat set the watercolor swoosh background or leave out to dry completely. Then, using an original Misti or stamp positioning tool, add the big sentiment, the mouse and the border stamp in navy archival ink or waterproof ink. Also, stamp the flowers in three coordinated colors, repeatedly around the top. Finally, add twine and adhesive gems, to finish.

I made a quick video tutorial showing the process for this project.
