Ink pad stamp shading ~ deer antler cards.

For Technique Time at Unity, I am showing a way to obtain ink pad shading with two-tone stamping and stamp layers.  This is a no coloring option for stamping.

Sentiments:
Warm wishes.
Sending my thanks.

Here are two cards, made similar with different sentiments.  This involves stamp layering in coordinating colors using ink pad blending.  See below for details and a video tutorial.

Here are helpful tips for creating these cards.  To begin, pre-cut and trim the deer panel and the sentiment panel.  Next, stamp the whole background layer in the lightest shade of gray.  Then, stamp the edges inward on the background in a darker gray, without covering the entire stamp.  Also, stamp the sentiment.  Now, stamp the deer antlers in the center of the background, once with light pink and then around the edges inward in a darker pink.  Finally, layer and assemble the card and embellishments to finish.

Here is another look.

Supplies:  Unity Stamp Co. Rustic Wishes and Gurnsey Gingham; Ranger jet black, watering can, rose madder and magenta hue archival ink; MFT grout gray ink, My Creative Time More Stitched Rectangular Dies, mini misti and foam tape.

Hello, and welcome to our "5" Days of Christmas"! This week we will be sharing with you LOTS of last-minute Christmas ideas, such as cards, tags, treat holders, gift card holders and whatever else comes to mind that will help YOU get your creative juices flowing.

Today is Day 3 of our 5 Days of Christmas! We all will be showcasing some quick and EASY holiday cards!

Sentiment: Warm wishes for a Merry Christmas.

This card was easier to do than it looks. I used a kraft color top fold card base and then die-cut the lace border onto the front flap. Then, I added a die-cut white insert onto the inside of the card. Patterned paper trimming was added to the top along with a bow strip. The sentiment was heat embossed onto the front. No coloring was needed. The flip-up front looks and feels nice with the lace. I like how it turned out.

***GIVEAWAY*** There will be five (5) winners throughout the 5 days of Christmas. Up for grabs are five of Emma's favorite things shown below. Hello, and welcome to our "5" Days of Christmas"! This week we will be sharing with you LOTS of last-minute Christmas ideas, such as cards, tags, treat holders, gift card holders and whatever else comes to mind that will help YOU get your creative juices flowing.

Today is Day 2 of our 5 Days of Christmas! We all will be showcasing some quick and EASY treat holders!

Sentiment: Wishing you a cozy holiday! This sweet favor box was made using the jar treat dies. I simply die-cut the pieces using patterned paper and silver cardstock. Then, I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment. The box was assembled with extra tacky score tape. Lately, I have been making natural-toned holiday projects and using gift wrap in kraft and white colors. There is just something about the cozy look of it that I love.

Poppy flowers thank you card with two toned stamping.

For Technique Time at Unity, I am sharing a card with poppy flowers, ink shading and patterned paper.  I use two toned stamping for the flowers.

Sentiment:  Many thanks.

This is a sweet layered floral card highlighting the flowers.  The two toned stamping is great with solid stamps like this.

Here are helpful tips for creating this card.  To begin, I pre-cut and assembled the background layers from patterned paper.  Next, I stamped the flowers onto a small panel using two toned stamping in red and black.  Then, to soften the look, I added distress ink blending around the flowers.  Also, I used excess scrap pieces for the card accents.  Finally, to finish, everything was layered onto the card base and assembled.

I made a quick video tutorial showing the process for this project.

Shabby chic deer antlers pink foiled greeting card.

This is a shabby chic style greeting card featuring deer antlers in pink foiling.

Sentiment:  Howdy

For this card, I first stamped and colored the antlers.  Using the stamp positioner, Misti, I restamped and heat embossed to prepare for foiling.  Pink foil was added to the stamping using a preheated laminator.  I used colored cardstock for the card base with added wood paper and lace.  Everything was layered to finish.

I made a quick video tutorial showing the process for this project.
