Floral watercolor gift card holder ~ MCT Gift Card Giving

Today, the My Creative Time team is sharing gift card projects for the theme "Gift Card Giving".

Sentiment:  Hurry open me!  The suspense is killing me!

This gift card wrap was die-cut and then splattered with pink and gray watercolor.  The sentiment and the flowers were heat embossed in silver.  Watercolor was added and then the flowers were die-cut for accents.  I wanted this to have a soft feminine look to it.  It shines so much better in person.  This could be for most any occasion and can contain a gift card, small flat treat, game tickets or just a note.

Supplies:  My Creative Time Pretty Gift Card Holder Die, Amazing and Signed Sealed and Delivered; Altenew watercolor half pans, silver, VersaMark, Ranger watercolor paper; silver embossing powder, heat tool, Original Misti.

Spring birdies card + Inktense watercolor pencils.

For today's Watercolor Wednesday, I am sharing a little watercolor pencil color featuring the cutest little birdies.

Sentiment:  We are cheering you on.

For this card, I created a background by adding color and water from the watercolor pencil tips and then lightly blending in three colors.  I did the same for the birds and then fussy cut them out to make a little scene over the background.  As an added accent, I made a sentiment flag.

Spring Birdies Good Luck Card + Watercolor Pencils
By Gaylynn Martling for Unity’s Watercolor Wednesday

Begin by stamping onto watercolor paper.  I used Ranger archival ink in jet black.  Heat set.
Trim or punch a sentiment panel.  Add color by sketching one color at a time.
With a damp brush, gently blend out the color sketches.  Dry.  Add darker sketches then blend again.
Smooth out the colors where they meet.  Add accent colors.  Heat set then fussy cut the birds.
Trim a watercolor paper panel.  Pick up color from the pencil tip using a wet brush, one color at a time.
Add a layer of water to the panel.  Using the background color palette, add dabs of color to the panel.
Heat set and then assemble the card.

Bunny Lollipop Holder ~ Day 1 MCT 88th Edition Sneak Peeks

Hello.  The MCT team is sharing Day 1 sneak peeks of the 88th Edition release.

This little bunny was made with the upcoming Bunny Lollipop Holder Die.    Isn't it the cutest little thing?  I decided to make this one for my niece.  But it works perfectly for a boy or a girl just by changing up the shading colors or by using solid cardstock only.  For this favor pop wrap, I shaded the edges with a distress ink pad.  I also added touches of Copic markers for the ears, bangs and whiskers.  I just want to pinch those cheeks.

Separating card sentiments, paper edges & Copics.

Here is an uplifting floral card for thank you, encouragement or just because.

Sentiment:  You deserve all that's good in this world.

This is a quick and easy card with simple card borders along with colorful florals and hand cut sentiments.   I used Copics for the hanging florals, patterned paper for the trim and then decided to cut the sentiment to add dimension.  This was fun to do and turned out looking cheerful and ready for Spring.

I made a quick video tutorial showing the process for this project.

Rainbow color stamping and foiling ~ paint brush card.

Here is a fun and colorful card for any celebration occasion or just because.

Sentiment:  Wishing you a colorful day.

For this card, I used a sheet of rainbow colored foil along with a laminator to pre-foil the swash and the sentiment.  To add even more color, I stamped feathers in different colors to border the top of the card.  Copics were used for the paint brush.  This was fun to do and a great card to have on hand for celebrations.

Poppy Flowers Watercolor Card with Distress Markers
By Gaylynn Martling for Unity’s Watercolor Wednesday
(See also the video tutorial for this project.)
Begin by stamping a background with VersaMark watermark ink and heat embossing the flower stamping.
Then on watercolor paper, stamp the flowers again using waterproof ink like Ranger Archival ink.
For watercolor, I used distress markers for outlines.  Then I used a water brush to blend out the color on the flowers.
I prefer to pick up drops of water for the water brush rather than squeeze the tube.  It gives me more control.
Repeat the outlines and blending for each petal and flower.  Heat set.
Assemble the card layers and add embellishments to finish.
Here is another look.

Supplies:  Unity Stamp Co. Border of Poppies and Whole Lot Of Lovely; Ranger watercolor paper, archival ink and distress markers; water brush, gray and white cardstock, My Favorite Things Blueprints 23 dies, MSC white embossing powder, VersaMark watermark ink, foam tape, adhesive gems, heat tool.

Celebration flower buds card.

Today, I get to share a card with little flower buds, perfect for any celebration occasion.  It is always nice to experiment with color combinations, just for fun.

Sentiment:  Today's a day to celebrate.

This is a beautiful floral stamp and die set by Altenew.  I have been experimenting with various ink colors and settled with this muted flower color against the bold leaves.  The background was made from a stencil along with heat embossing.  I tore the vellum edge for added texture.

Here is another look.

I am including this in a couple of challenges, just for the fun of it.

Distress Ink Watercolor + Glitter Flower Card
By Gaylynn Martling for Unity’s Watercolor Wednesday
(See also the video tutorial for this project.)
Begin by pre-stamping onto watercolor paper with waterproof ink.
Mist water onto a craft mat if you are mixing from reinker drops.
If using distress ink pads, add ink directly to a dry craft mat.  Then mix with water and a brush, one color at a time.
Pick up color by mixing a wet brush with ink to desired hue.  Apply color from light to dark.
Heat set between colors and layers.
I added two shades of each color for the flower and for the leaves.
For the darker layer, carefully apply color to the flower and the leaf creases, one color at a time.
Repeat the process for the leaves, drying between each color and layer.  Add a background color layer.
Dab tiny dots of glue for glitter.  Pour glitter over the glue areas and then tap away excess.  Dry and then assemble the card.

Supplies:  Unity Stamp Co. My Sympathies; Ranger watercolor paper, archival ink, distress reinker in abandoned coral, distress ink pads in forest moss, bundled sage, spun sugar and tumbled glass; My Creative Time rectangular dies, MSC gold glitter, glue, heat tool.

A floral tag card for all occasions in teal and gray.

Today, I am sharing a clean and simple floral all occasion card.

Sentiment:  Just because I'm thinking of you.

For this card, I used layers of Copic markers for a monochromatic look to the flowers.  I decided to make a tag card to frame the pretty florals.  I used shades of teal and gray.

Here is another look.

Supplies:  Unity Stamp Co. Just Because, Copic markers BG18, BG49, BG15, BG32, G0000, C3, C5; Simon Says Stamp intense black ink for alcohol markers, sequins, foam tape, ribbon, My Creative Time tag dies and Tag Die Layers; glitter paper.

Have a great day.

Just a little note birdies card with colored pencils.

Hi there.  I am sharing a a super cute and fun all occasion card featuring the cutest birds.  I decided to give this card lots of layers and extra music notes in the background.

Sentiment:  Just a little note for you.

For these little birds, all in a row, I gave them soft coloring using Prismacolor colored pencils along with Gamsol fluid for blending.  I used two colors for each bird.  These pencils are new to me but with a little practice, I think they are going to be something I use often.  The process of adding the Gamsol really does blend out the pencil marking quite nicely.

For the background, I stamping and then heat embossed music notes to go along with the theme.

I made a quick video tutorial showing the process for this project.
