For this card, I created a background by adding color and water from the watercolor pencil tips and then lightly blending in three colors. I did the same for the birds and then fussy cut them out to make a little scene over the background. As an added accent, I made a sentiment flag.
Begin by stamping onto watercolor paper. I used Ranger archival ink in jet black. Heat set.
Trim or punch a sentiment panel. Add color by sketching one color at a time.
With a damp brush, gently blend out the color sketches. Dry. Add darker sketches then blend again.
Smooth out the colors where they meet. Add accent colors. Heat set then fussy cut the birds.
Trim a watercolor paper panel. Pick up color from the pencil tip using a wet brush, one color at a time.
Add a layer of water to the panel. Using the background color palette, add dabs of color to the panel.
Heat set and then assemble the card.
Also, you can find my other watercolor features at Unity's Watercolor Wednesday.
