Unity paper card trim and Copics with stamping.

Here is a look at ways to use patterned paper in card making.  I show bits of Copic coloring with stamping as well.

Sentiment:  Birthday girl, you don't look a day over fabulous.

This is a celebration card, perfect for a birthday, bridal shower or most any celebration occasion, just by switching out the sentiment.  I decided to pair one of the new Unity paper packs with this stamped girl image panel.  To accent, I added Copic markers, adhesive pearls and selective paper trimmings.

I made a quick video tutorial showing the process for this project.

Sentiment:  Oh joy.

To begin, I added some of the patterned paper from my stash, along with the sweet lace and wreath stamps and dies.  I love the softness to this background paper, especially for the winter holidays.  Then, a tiny bit of Copic coloring was added to the wreath.  To finish, I added the stamped sentiment.

Supplies:  My Creative Time I Have Faith In You stamps and dies, Lace Border Die and Just A Little Something; Simon Says Stamp intense black ink, Bo Bunny Elf Magic paper, Copic markers B01, BG15, BG49, BG32, Y21; foam tape.

Ombre glitter stamping with VersaMark ink and hair spray.

Today is the first day of my new series here on the Unity blog.  It is called Technique Time.  I will show some of my favorite techniques with helpful tips along the way.   For this project, I am sharing one way to obtain glitter stamping.

Sentiment:  Merry.

To begin, I stamped using the Misti stamping tool and a VersaMark ink pad with fresh VersaMark refill.  Then, I added three shades of fine glitter to the stamped panel.  To keep a better hold on the glitter, I added hair spray to the glitter panel, dried and added more hair spray.  To finish, I layered everything and added tiny adhesive gems.

The full article and tutorial are up on the Unity blog.
I also made a quick video tutorial showing the process for this project.

Hello, it's Gaylynn here.  The My Creative Time 94th Edition release, sale and blog hop has begun.
You may have arrived from Emily's blog.

Sentiment:  Happy Halloween!

This is a second way that I am using the skull treat box die.  During the sneak peek days, I showed these dies being used as a treat box.  This time, I decided to use the skull section, along with the background layer, to make a gift tag.  I just trimmed away the side tabs.  These are great to tie onto treats, bags, card accents or even used as a wine tag.

Here is a look at the skull treat box die which I am using pieces of in today's project.  I also use parts of the other items releasing.

Little boos treat bag gift tags for Halloween.

Today, I am sharing a fun way to dress up treats for Halloween.  I made a quick and easy set of assorted treat bag tags.

To begin, I stamped some of the icons onto a sheet of cardstock with Copic friendly ink.  Then, I lightly added touches of Copic makers to the stamping.  Two sizes of circle punches were used to cut out the icons and the frame layer.  With a little twine and a treat bag, the assembling was complete.

I made a quick video tutorial showing the process for this project.

Oh, what fun it is to create this Halloween favor box.  This is nearly all die-cuts except for the fun coordinating sentiment stamp.  I used assorted solid cardstock and extra tacky double-sided tape to assemble.  This is approximately 3" x 3" and will hold wrapped treats or small gifts.  I want to make these for our trick-or-treaters.

Night time sky background holiday watercolor card.

For Watercolor Wednesday, I made a night time sky background holiday card scene.  For this process, I used watercolor powders with stamping.

Sentiment:  Holy night.

To begin, I created the watercolor background panel using Brusho watercolor powders.  My goal was to obtain a nighttime sky background using dark watercolor shades.  Then, I added stamping with heat embossing over the dried watercolor panel.  To finish, I added a stamped sentiment and adhesive pearls.
The process is messy, so use caution to protect the work area from color stains and follow the precautions for the color powders.

Spooky Tree ~ Day 3 MCT 94th Edition Sneak Peeks

Hello, it's Gaylynn.  Here is Day 3 of sneak peeks with the My Creative Time 94th Edition release.

Sentiment:  October 31

Here is a fun layered tag with Halloween themed die-cuts and embossed stamping.  I used black cardstock in the background and then added white dye ink swooshes.  It turned out looking somewhat dark gray and navy blue.  That was a nice surprise.  I distressed the tree and added a moon to the background with patterned paper.  With a little twine, it is ready to be added to a gift, treat bag, party favor or even used as a wine tag.

Watercolor blending, sympathy card topper and tutorial.

For Watercolor Wednesday, I am showing a way to blend two shades of watercolor onto a stamped flower.  Also, I share a cute card topper idea.

Sentiment:  With sympathy

To begin, I used watercolor paper for the flower and vellum for the sentiment.  All paper was trimmed to fit the card base.  Watercolor was added using markers, but any watercolor would work for this technique.  I first dabbed watercolor by color section and then blended that section out with a wet brush.  I repeated that for the second golden watercolor sections, blending into the first color.  To finish, I layered a card topper using die-cut patterned paper, vellum and a sentiment.

The full article and tutorial are up on the Unity blog.
I also made a quick video tutorial showing the process for this project.

Just you you strawberry gift or wine tag.

Today, the My Creative Time team is sharing Tag It Tuesday projects.  I decided to make a cute strawberry gift tag.  It would work for most any gift, baked goods, gift bag or even as a wine tag.

Sentiment:  Just for you.

This sweet gift tag includes a die-cut strawberry.  If you look closely, you will see that the seeds are actually tiny hearts.  I used assorted patterned paper for the strawberry and the stem.  With a bit of twine and a micro sentiment tag, it is ready for gift giving.

Supplies:  My Creative Time More Chunky Tag Dies, Especially For You, Cute Micro Dies and Strawberry Treat Dies; Ranger archival ink in coffee, Jen Hadfield paper, solid cardstock, foam tape and twine.

Birthday swan card with minimal color watercolor.

Hello,  Today, I am sharing a way to obtain minimal color watercolor.  I made a clean and simple card using this swan scene.

Sentiment:  Happy birthday.

This is a large scene with a mixed media look to it.  To make it softer, I added very little color to the folds and creases in the stamp.  I used water based markers and then blended out the color with water only.  With just a few dots and lines, the color softens with water and a brush.  I also used a palette to blend color before adding it to the stamping.  This technique provides an elegant look to card making.

Here is another look.

Supplies:  Unity Stamp Co. Grow In Grace and Abundant Blessings; Zig clean color real brush markers 042, 021, 094, 091; Ranger watercolor paper, My Creative Time dies, watercolor brush, Altenew palette mat, foam tape, adhesive pearls.

Wicked Treats Halloween Favor Wrap ~ MCT 3D Wednesday

Today, the My Creative Time team is sharing 3D projects.  I decided to make a fun Halloween favor wrap, envelope style.

Sentiment:  Wicked treats.

This was fun and easy to make.  I used double-sided patterned paper for the envelope die-cut.  Then I added the fun sentiment with tulle accenting the front side.  The inside holds small teats tied with tulle.  This can easily be made into multiple for trick-or-treaters or for party favors.

Supplies:  My Creative Time Stitched Treat Sleeve Die and Witchie Witchie; Ranger archival ink in jet black, MSC double-sided 12" x 12" patterned paper, Wonder tape and black tulle.

Quilted border and envelope art ~ card and tutorial.

Here is an inspirational card featuring a border made from stamps with the look of quilting.  I used a few different stamp strips with heat embossing for this.

Sentiment:
Plant kindness & gather love.

These stamps provide a quilt look, leaving no space around the edges.  I used five different stamps right next to each other, stamped them and then heat embossed.   I wanted a staggering look to the strips to make a top border background.  As a bonus, I also used the same patterns on an envelope but with different ink color.  The envelope stamping can be placed on any side of the envelope, front, back, left, right, top or bottom. The possibilities are endless for crafts.

I made a quick video tutorial showing the process for this project.
