Sew... I heard it's your birthday ~ MCT Made in Minutes

Today, on the MCT blog, we are sharing made in minutes projects.
This watercolor sewing pun-themed card was made quicker than it may seem.

Sentiment:  Sew... I heard it's your birthday.

MCT products used:

On one piece of watercolor paper, I added watercolor using the ink smooshing technique.  Then, I trimmed two panels from the dried watercolor panel.  I then added a stamped and die-cut sewing machine with the sentiment between the two watercolor strips.  For added embellishment, I added a die-cut circle border and sequins.

You could make multiple card backgrounds by watercoloring one larger watercolor sheet and then trimming to fit.  For embellishments, use up your extra stamped or die-cut pieces laying around.

Here is another look.

Other supplies:  Altenew watercolor half pans, sequins, Gina K Designs ink, Copic markers BG49, BG53, V01; Ranger watercolor paper.

Be sure to visit Miss Emma's My Creative Time blog for more inspiration.

Thanks for visiting.

My quick video tutorial shows the process.

Here is a vintage style car card for encouragement, moving, good luck, graduation & more.

Wedding Favor Box ~ MCT Inspire Me Wednesday

Today, on the MCT blog, we are sharing something that inspired our project.
Here is one of a few decorated wedding favor box themes that I made to sample different styles.

One popular theme is lace and burlap.  I took inspiration from the photo below but used all paper and die-cuts to get a similar look.  Here is what I found while searching online:

The wedding favor box was easy to put together.  The die-cut kraft color paper was scored and assembled.  Then, I added a die-cut doily, folding up the sides.  I finished with a sheer ribbon and bow.

MCT products used on this wedding favor box:

I hope you were inspired to create handcrafted party favors.

Mini gift box ~ MCT 48 Hour Flash Sale and Blog Hop

Hi, it's Gaylynn here. Welcome to another My Creative Time "48 Hour Flash Sale" and blog hop. You may have arrived from Miss Emma's My Creative Time blog.

Today, the team and I are showcasing this adorable mini gift box die. I see this being used over and over for party favors, small thank you gifts, holiday treats, etc. all year long.

This one is decorated for Thanksgiving. I used double-sided Autumn patterned paper in orange, eggplant and golden colors. The inside is deep purple or eggplant (the same color as the small leaf). It doesn't show the rich inside hue in the photo. The leaves are from a tropical kit called Summer Vibes. I like to think that it is how Florida meets Autumn. Make the best of both worlds, right? haha
