Watercolor ~ November 2022 Friends of Unity Blog Hop

Hello and welcome.  The November 2022 Friend's Of Unity blog hop inspiration is watercolor.  I hope that you will join in on the fun and inspiration.  Simply comment on each stop in the hop.  See the end of this post for your next stop in the hop.

Here is my watercolor project for November.

Sentiment:  Merry Christmas

This card was a joy to make.  Watercolor is one of my favorite additions to card making.

Helpful tips:

Here are helpful tips for making this watercolor card.  To begin, prepare an A2 sized card base in white.  Next, onto watercolor card stock, add foliage stamping in different stamp layers, overlapping them at the top border.  For watercolor projects, I use waterproof ink.  Then, heat set the stamping.  Important, before adding watercolor, protect your workspace and do not inhale the crystal powders.  Next, spray water over the watercolor paper sections where you want to watercolor.  Then, gently tap a small amount of crystal powder color over the water.  I used a tiny bit of Brusho crystal colors in turquoise and orange. Also, spray again with water to blend and move the color.  Blot any puddles and then heat set.  To finish, die-cut or trim and adhere the dried watercolor panel over the card base with an added sentiment and gems.

  4. I love your card and I am so inspired to try out this technique. The look of watercolor running down the card is so dramatic. I have never used crystal powder, I will have to try this out. The layered leaves are just wonderful!

    1. Hi Glennis. Just remember to use waterproof ink like hybrid or archival, that dries completely or is heat set. Otherwise the ink may run with added. Thanks so much. :)
