Today, I am sharing a set of three Autumn themed leaf cards made using stamping and watercolor. For color, I used dye in refill bottles in three shades along with gold shimmer.
Sentiment: Thank you.
This watercolor process can be used for almost any stamp or occasion. It never turns out the same way twice. I show three examples in the tutorial below.
Helpful tips:
To create this, begin by stamping the large leaf onto watercolor paper using waterproof ink. Option, heat emboss the stamping for easier watercolor control. Next, add a drop of each dye ink refill bottle onto a plastic mat or palette. Then, add water with a brush to the stamped area where you want the first shade. Also, dab a small brush into the ink and then over the water section. Color will easily move where there is water. Continue the water then ink process for each color section of the leaf. Repeat as needed. Once dry, add a touch of gold watercolor for shimmer. Then, dry again and fussy cut or cut out the leaves. Finally, add the die-cut sentiment over the leaf and assemble the card, to finish.
Here is another look at the set of cards.
