Planner art ~ USA map with flowers and feathers.

For my July planner cover pages, I decided to add a USA map, covered in flowers.  In honor of Independence Day, this map, along with feathers, were the perfect decorations.

Sentiment:  ... and so the adventure begins.

For the page art, I first colored and fussy cut the USA with colored pens.  Then, I used Copic markers for the map background and for the feathers.  The bottom flower is original planner art, which I added color to.

Here is a quick video tutorial showing how the pages were put together.

This is the two-page layout.  The right side is original planer art, but I added feathers to match.
Most of the art was pre-stamped and colored onto separate cardstock and then added to the existing planner pages.
The colored pens and the Copics would otherwise bleed through the pages.

Most of my journaling and other details are added off-camera.  I am sharing ideas, here, for sprucing up your planner pages.  See my related posts using stamping in planners and journals, below.

Supplies:  Unity Stamp Co. Stronger Together and Hey Friend; The Happy Planner, Staedtler Triplus Fineliner colored pens, Copic markers V09, V04, V01, BV0000, RV11, RV09 and G0000.

Best wishes.

Seashells Card ~ Watercolor Wednesday at Unity

It is Summertime, and therefore, seashells are the focus of today's Watercolor Wednesday on the Unity blog.  Specifically, I share a no-line watercolor with stamping technique.

Sentiment:  Always keep a little beach day in your heart.

This is an uplifting card for any time.  It is made to look imperfect and with life-like shells.  The background netting was heat embossed in gold shimmer and the vintage typewriter sentiment was stamped.  But the seashells are made with stamping and watercolor.  Then, I fussy cut the shells to add them to the background.  I used a technique called no-line watercolor with stamping.

The full article and tutorial are up on the Unity blog.  I also made a quick video tutorial showing the no-line watercolor process:

This is a look at the colors used to watercolor the seashells.  However, I decided to use a flat stiff brush instead of the water brush shown.
I am including this as one of the #thedailymarker30day projects during this month.

Here is a closer look.

Supplies:  Unity Stamp Co. The Ocean Is Calling {smak 1/18}, Ranger watercolor paper, embossing powder, archival ink and distress ink pads; VersaMark, gold cording, My Creative Time dies and foam tape.

Sending Hugs Favor Box ~ MCT Whatever Wednesday

This is a small treat or favor box for sending hugs, wishes or as a thank you.
It is one of the projects on the My Creative Time blog for Whatever Wednesday.

Sentiment:  Sending big hugs your way!

I mixed a few kits to make this favor box and gift tag.  For the box, I die-cut onto bright and cheerful patterned paper.  To make the tag, I die-cut with the XOXO tag die, placed a hole punch on the side and stamped the sentiment.  The hugging bunnies were colored in with Copic markers and then die-cut.  They were the perfect decoration for this treat box.

Here is a look at the bunny rabbit coloring process.

Supplies:  MCT stamps and dies listed above, BasicGrey paper, Copic markers E11, E13, E18, E71, E00 and V01; white Sharpie pen and hemp.

Anniversary couple's card in neutral colors.

Today, I am sharing a Happy 30th card in celebration of our 30th wedding anniversary.  This card could also work for a birthday.

Sentiment:  Happy 30th.  We belong here.

I used the lovely couple stamps by Unity, all except the Happy 30th sentiment.  That was printed and then added to the card.  For a masculine look, I kept the colors in the brown and sepia shades.  I love how it turned out.

Here is a quick video tutorial on how this card was put together.

Here is another look.

Bible Journal Florals ~ Unity Blog Hop with Graciellie Design

Welcome to the June 2018 blog hop with Unity Stamp Co. and Graciellie Design.

Here is my bible journal page using the lovely flowers and scripture.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy & peace in believing, so that you may abound in hope through the power of the holy spirit.  Romans 15:13

For this bible page, I show ways to work with vellum along with stamping and coloring.  I used Copic markers and colored on the opposite of the stamping.  This leaves a softer look to the coloring.  However, either side works depending on your preference.

I made a quick video tutorial on these bible journal florals and scripture art.

Here is the side view of the page.

Popsicle Gift Card Holder ~ Day 4 MCT 80th Edition Sneak Peek

Sentiment:  Happy birthday to the coolest person I know.

MCT products used:
Pretty Treat Topper Die
Anything is Popsicle

The pretty treat topper die was used to top my gift card holder instead of using it as a treat topper.  It is versatile enough to work either way.   I just popped the card inside of a glassine bag, added the die-cut popsicle and coordinating birthday sentiment.

I know that this topper will also be used as party favors in the near future and for the holidays.

Planter flowers card ~ Watercolor Wednesday

Today, this all occasion watercolor card is up on the Unity blog for Watercolor Wednesday.

Sentiment:  Hello

This is a card for most any occasion.  It features my version of planter flowers, although the kit was intended to be succulents.  To me, this kit seemed versatile enough to work as flowers or as succulents.

For the watercolor, I used distress markers along with water and watercolor brushes.

Here is a quick video tutorial for this planter card.

Here is a closer look.

Never Stop Dreaming ~ Day 2 MCT 80th Edition Sneak Peek

The MCT team is sharing sneak peeks of the 80th Edition release.  Here is my heart dream catcher gift tag for Day 2 of the sneaks.

Sentiment:  Never stop dreaming.

MCT products used:

This heart dream catcher is colored with Copic markers BG49, BG32 and Y21.  But, for the tag background, I blended with a wild honey distress ink pad.  For the splatters, I tapped ink from the Ranger reinker in jet black over the honey color.  Because that left marks that bled through to the back side of the tag, I trimmed a white tag background panel.  Everything was layered to finish.

Today, the MCT team is sharing Day 1 sneak peeks of the 80th Edition release.  Here is my popsicle gift tag.

Sentiment:  It's your day, just chill.

MCT products used:

For the popsicles, I first used distress ink pads on watercolor paper.  I added small areas of different colors for die-cut sections.  I spritzed with a small amount of water, then added white splatters.  Once the paper was dry, I die-cut the layers with my Big Shot.  The tags were layered with complementing pattern paper.

Here is a  look at the process.

Framed open window floral card with Copics.

Here is a just because greeting card in pastels and with a framed window opening.

Sentiment:  Just because you're darn amazing.

For this card, I stamped and colored the flowers in Copics.  I used that as the card liner and added a die-cut window card front.  A scalloped window frame and sentiment were added along with sequins.

And here is another look showing the inside and the outside of this card.

Today, these metallic watercolor magnolias are up on the Unity blog for Watercolor Wednesday.

Sentiment:  Oh happy day.

This is a card for most occasions, especially for celebrations like birthday, graduation, congratulations, wedding, shower and more.

I used metallic watercolor in the colors of silver and gold for the petals.  It really shows the shimmer better in person and on the video.

Here is a quick video tutorial for these magnolias.

Here is a closer look.

Be sure to visit the Unity blog for the entire article and tutorial as part of my Watercolor Wednesday series there.

Supplies:  Unity Stamp Co. Magnolia Flowers by Graciellie Design, Gansai Tambi Starry Colors, Tim Holtz distress embossing ink, embossing powder, adhesive pearls and gold cording.

Floral anniversary planner page ~ MCT 3-D Wednesday

Today is 3-D Wednesday at My Creative Time.  A planner book is another 3-D option for creating, I think.  So, I am sharing my June planner page, highlighting our 30th wedding anniversary, coming up.

MCT products used:

I decided to use the lovely flower stamps and dies, along with a heart for accents.  This was fun and easy to do.  The flowers were colored with Copic markers.  These elements can easily be used for cards or tags as well.

I included the process picture below for Day 4 of #thedailymarker30day on Instagram.

I hope this inspires you as another way to use stamps and dies.

Supplies:  My Creative Time stamps and dies, The Happy Planner by Me & My Big Ideas, glitter paper, Simon Says Stamp intense black ink, Copic markers V01, R32, R27, R35, BG32, BG49, YR14, G03, Y15 and YR23.

Be sure to visit Miss Emma's My Creative Time blog for more inspiration projects.

Mojito cocktail gift tag or bottle tag.

This is a fun gift tag or bottle tag for any occasion like birthday, celebrations, congratulations, etc.

Sentiment:  Have the best day.

For this tag, I used shades of green in Copic markers with hints of yellow and blue.  To make it a tag, I layered papers and added bright ribbon.  It is great to have fun tags on hand for gift bags, gifts and more.

An idea for cocktail tags like this is to add a recipe on the back of the tag and then attach it to a gift bottle, housewarming gift or hostess gift.

Here is a quick tip video tutorial for this mojito tag.

Here is another fun look at the tag.

Supplies:  Unity Stamp Co. Hello Mojito and Many Happy Birdies; cardstock, ribbon, Copic markers G07, YG13, Y0000, C1, BG0000 and R27.

Have a great day.

Fabulous flamingo tropical card and video.

Can we talk about flamingos?  Gosh, this one is a beauty drawn by the fabulous Angie Blom.

Sentiment:  Stand tall and be fabulous.

That's right.... do that!
I love all things tropical, positive and inspirational.  I used Copic markers in coral and pink shades.  For the background, I created a blend for a sunset look, using distress oxide inks.

Here is a quick video tutorial, showing the background process.

Unity is having a sale and a few new releases, including this flamingo.  The flamingo stamp kit is offered free with a qualifying purchase.

Here is a closer look.

Some have asked how to achieve the water dots in the background.  Check out the video to see how to accomplish the look.
