How to make slim cards. 2 masculine cards ~ Father's Day or birthday

Hello.  I am sharing two slimline masculine cards, perfect for Father's Day, Birthday or any time.

Sentiment:  My Father is the best Dad ever.

This first card was made using teal and gray colors.  I used a diagonal die-cut layer in white with a gray background trimmed piece of cardstock.  A paper trimmer was used to make the background panel and the card base.  It is not necessary to use die-cut layers to get the slim line card style.  A paper trimmer works perfectly for trimming to fit your envelope size.

Also, I made another card in blue and gray.  This time, I die-cut the diagonal panel in gray and trimmed a white background layer.  Again, die-cuts are not necessary.  A neutral stamped panel behind the ties would give a great background look.

How to make a slim card base to fit into an #9 or #10 business size envelope:
Use a thicker cardstock and a paper trimmer.
Cut the cardstock 9 1/4" x 8".
Using a scoring board, score the shortest end at 4".

Canvas Art ~ How to add stamped art to a painted canvas

Hello.  For Technique Time at Unity, I am sharing canvas art.  This is a way of adding a stamped watercolor cardstock panel to a painted mixed media canvas.

Adding papercraft art to a canvas is a great way to preserve your artwork.  It is similar to card making, but instead in a mixed-media format.

Here are helpful canvas art tips for how to add stamped art to a painted canvas.  First, prime and then paint a canvas.  Then, allow it to dry after priming and also after painting.  Next, stamp then watercolor the wagon panel and the flowers, using watercolor paper and waterproof ink.  Then, dry completely.  Next cut out the flowers and trim the wagon panel.  Optional, add sparkle to the flowers.  Next, in a well-ventilated area, add spray fixatif to the front and the back sides of the stamped and colored art panel and to the flowers.  Onto the canvas, hand stamp background accents and then dry.  Then, apply a matte gel medium to the canvas and to the back side of the wagon panel.  Next, with dry hands, gently press the cardstock panel over the canvas.  Then, apply a top coat of matte gel medium over the canvas and the artwork.  Finally, allow the canvas to dry completely.  Optional, adhere a dry accent frame and then glue the flowers to accent.

Tropical flamingo birthday card with watercolor, Copics and die-cuts

Hello.  Today, the My Creative Time team is sharing birthday themed projects.  Here is my tropical style card with flamingos against simple watercolor and added vellum foliage.

Sentiment:  Hello gorgeous.  Happy birthday

This card was designed to be cheerful and bright.  I made a tropical scene with a mix of two sets, mixed color mediums and with vellum leaf accents.  Good day sunshine!

To make this, trim or die-cut a background panel from watercolor paper and then add simple watercolor swipes.  Next, stamp the flamings and the sentiment.  Add color to the flamingos.  I used Copics.  Next, die-cut the flamingos and trim a sentiment flag.  Also, die-cut accents in vellum or watercolored paper.  Finally, layer it all to create the scene that you want.

Shimmering flowers frame overlay card and video tutorial.

Hello.  Here, I am sharing a shimmering floral frame overlay card using stamping, Copic markers and liquid shimmer.

Sentiment:  Just wanted to say hello.

Here are helpful tips for creating this.  First, die-cut or trim a background panel.  Then, stamp the whispy frame and the sentiment onto that panel.  Next, stamp the flowers onto another piece of cardstock, using Copic friendly ink.  Then, add color with Copics or makers of choice.  Next, cut out the flowers (fussy cut).  Then, layers the flowers over the frame panel and assemble the card.  Finally, add a touch of liquid pixie dust with a brush to the petals for shimmer and add sequins, to finish.

Keep smiling ~ Prismacolor pencils daisy card with script.

Hi there.  Today, I am sharing a daisy script card using stamping, colored pencil and creative frame accents.

Sentiment:  Keep smiling!  Life is too short.

Here are helpful tips for creating this.  First, die-cut or trim an outer frame and sentiment panel.  Next, onto smooth gray cardstock, stamp the script background, the daisy and the sentiment onto separate gray pieces.  Also, stamp the whispy frame over part of the background script.  Then, carefully hand trim (fussy cut) around the whispy frame.  Next, add color to the daisy with colored pencils and then fussy cut the daisy.  Finally, adhere all of the layers and adhesive gems, to finish.
