Watercolor ~ July 2023 Friends Of Unity Blog Hop

Welcome.  Thanks for visiting.  The July 2023 Friends Of Unity blog hop inspiration is "watercolor" themed.  I hope that you will join in on the fun.  Simply comment on each blog in the hop.  See the end of this post for your next stop.

For today's cards, I chose a sympathy theme, because I like having these types of cards on hand when it is needed.  Also, I think that soft watercolor adds a peaceful look.
The details for each card follow.  Be sure to check out the rest of the blogs in the hop for beautiful inspiration and ideas for card making.

This is a look at my first card.

Sentiment:  Sending prayers.

To make this, begin by preparing a color card base, A2 sized. Then, stamp using waterproof ink onto watercolor cardstock and also stamp and trim the sentiment label. Next, add watercolor to the flower. I used watercolor pencils for this card, but use what you have. Once dried, trim or die-cut the card front panel. Then, add ribbon onto one side of the card base and then layer the card front and sentiment label, to finish.

And a bit closer:

Here is a peek at how this was made:

Here is a look at the second card.

Sentiment. A life so beautifully lived. To make this begin by stamping the twigs and sentiment onto watercolor cardstock to form a bottom garden. Stamp as many as you like to make a little border. Use waterproof ink onto watercolor cardstock. Next, stamp the butterfly separately the same way. Then, add watercolor to the background panel in two pastel shades. Also, watercolor the butterfly and fussy cut it (cut it out). Next, heat set or leave out to dry. Then, trim or die-cut the watercolor panel and a frame for it. Finally, assemble the card layers, to finish. Now, here is a closer look.
