2 bookmark tags ~ MCT Made In Minutes

Hi there.  Today, the My Creative Time team is sharing project ideas which were made in minutes.  Here are my fun bookmarks with a heart topper.  These can double as gift tags as well.

Sentiments:  
Read, relax and unwind.
Sorry my night is all booked.

The heart topper doubles as a page holder as it opens at the bottom and closes over the page.

These gift tags were made from patterned paper die-cuts.  Any cardstock or patterned paper works for this.  The corresponding stamps fit perfectly onto the bookmark front.  No coloring is necessary for these quick and easy bookmark tags.  These make great little gifts for the book lover or for gift packaging tags.

Supplies:  My Creative Time Always Love To Read stamps and dies; mini Misti, Ranger jet black archival ink, BasicGrey Lucille paper, hole punch, hemp cording, foam tape.

French merci + bonjour watercolor cards ~ Prima Art Philosophy

Today, I am sharing two different one layer watercolor cards with stamping.  One is floral framed and the other has a more vivid background.  Both cards incorporate Prima Art Philosophy watercolor tube samples and also clear stamps from The Greeting Farm.

First up is my merci card.

Sentiment:  Merci

For the merci card, I used the ink smooshing technique.  I used pink and yellow colors of the watercolor with water added.  Then, I placed the watercolor paper over the ink mixture and then lifted the panel.  The result was a beautiful blend of the two colors.  Once dried, I stamped the sentiment with some of the floral accents.  Finally, I added this panel to the card base, to finish.

Here is another french themed watercolor card.  This one is a side fold card.

Sentiment:  Bonjour

This bonjour card was first stamped onto watercolor paper.  All of the florals were stamped first.  Then with a narrow brush, I picked up color from my watercolor palette to fill in the flowers and leaves.  The background was given a watercolor wash in diluted blue for a light look.  Once the panel was dry, I stamped the bonjour sentiment, to finish.

2 Interactive cards ~ light up and camera shaped pop up cards

Today, I am sharing two different interactive cards.  One is a light-up card and the other is a camera shaped card, both interactive.

Sentiment:  Smile.  Say Cheese!

This slim card opens and closes sideways, keeping the camera shape intact.  The card folds flat for envelope mailing.   The above photo shows the card folds opened slightly so that it stands up on its own.  With layered cuts and folds, this card came to life.

Here is another look at the camera card.

When the camera is pulled open even more, it reveals a pop-up girl.  She is tucked inside until the card is fully opened and then she pops up from right to left.  How cute is that?  These two cards were some of my projects made at the Unstoppable craft retreat in Athens, during one of my classes there.  

Here is another one of the projects made there.  This one is an interactive light-up card.  It includes tiny EZ-lights behind the girl and hearts.  The first photo shows the card without pressing on the lights.

If you press the "press me" area, the camera lights appear looking like a flashbulb.  It lights up when pressed.  How fun is that?

These got me inspired to make more interactive type cards.

Vellum embossing blue flowers card border tutorial.

Hello.  For Technique Time at Unity, I am sharing vellum embossing and creating a blue floral card border.

Sentiment: The world needs more of you.

This technique creates a soft look that can be used on its own or over a patterned background.  I used a premade background layer, but patterned paper would work also.

Here are helpful tips for creating the vellum embossing.  To begin, use a premade background or use patterned paper.  Next, stamp the flowers with embossing or watermark ink onto quality vellum cardstock.  I like Papertrey Ink vellum cardstock as it holds up to heat embossing.  Next, heat emboss the flowers using embossing powder with color.  I used blue.  Next, cut (fussy cut) around one side of the florals to make a card border.  Then, stamp and trim a sentiment panel.  Finally, adhere all of the layers to finish.

Floral gift or favor box ~ MCT I need a favor

Hi there.  Today, the My Creative Time team is sharing favor or gift wrap project ideas.  Here is my sweet floral small gift box, treat holder or favor box.  This could be for almost any occasion or just because.

Sentiment:  Something special for you.

These little boxes are easy to make and great to have on hand as a small token thank you, a party favor, treat holder or even as a gift card holder.

For this project, I used patterned paper die-cuts, sentiment stamping and accents.  Once folded, this box is easily assembled.  I recommend an extra tacky double-sided tape, like Wonder Tape or Score Tape for the folds.  The bows are part of this die set, so layering is easy.  I did add a sentiment tag with twine for the front.  There is no coloring necessary for this box project.
