Bible journal bookmark tag with stamping and Copic markers.

Today, I am showing a way to add art to a bible journal, using Copic markers and stamping.

Sentiment:  With God all things are possible ~ Matthew 19:26

This is one way to add art to the thin bible pages without damaging the backside of the page.  Using a separate trimmed stamped panel is a great addition for use with these mediums.  See below for details and a video tutorial.

For more of my bible journaling posts, see bible journal.
For similar planner art techniques, see planner.

Here are helpful tips for creating this.  To begin, pre-cut and stamp your artwork onto cardstock.  Then, die-cut or trim the cardstock.  Next, color in your stamping using markers that are compatible with the ink used for the stamping.  Then, fussy cut or trim any other pieces.  Finally, add cording for the bookmark and/or adhere the art onto the bible page.

I made a quick video tutorial showing the process for this project.

Merry Christmas! Fun multiple layer gift tags for many occasions.

For today, I am showing a way to make multiple-layer gift tags using stamping and patterned paper.  Tags like these can be made for most occasions, using many sentiment stamps.

These funny sentiments were fun to work with.  The process involves assembling the tags in layers with stamping and papers of choice.  This can be used as a gift tag, a card accent or as a wine tag.  See below for details and a video tutorial.

Here are helpful tips for creating these multiple layer gift tags.  To begin, pre-stamp your sentiments of choice, leaving room for trimming and die-cutting.  Also, pre-cut all of the tag layers and the cording.  Next, adhere glitter paper accents and the sentiment pieces.  Then position the patterned paper layers.  If you want to keep the layers offset, add a bit of double-sided adhesive on layers.  Finally, add twine, cording or ribbon to the top of each tag to finish.
The assembly process is made easier by stamping, cutting and adhering in multiples.

Have a great day.

Special delivery gift card holder envelope card.

Today, the My Creative Time team is sharing gift card projects.  Here is a watercolor card with a gift card envelope on the front.

Sentiment:  Special delivery.

To begin, I added watercolor to a piece of watercolor paper.  Then, the paper was dried, trimmed and stamped.  I used this panel for a card background.  Then, I die-cut the envelope and the bow.  Finally, these cuts were assembled and place onto the watercolor panel, as the card focal point.

This card is great for a baby shower, congratulations, thank you or just because.

Distress oxide stencil masking no layer card.

For Technique Time at Unity, I am showing a way to make a no layer card using distress oxide ink, a stencil, stamping and masking.  This is a quick and easy CAS card design.

Sentiment:  Time to hit refresh.

This clean and simple card was made with a flat design, directly onto the card base.  The process involves ink blending using a stencil plus stamping.  See below for details and a video tutorial.

Here are helpful tips for creating this card.  To begin, pre-cut and score your card base.  Then, die-cut cardstock and use the negative as a mask.  Next, place the card base onto a scrap piece of paper.  Then position the mask over the card base.  Now, adhere the stencil over the masked panel.  I used repositionable tape.  Next, blend the masked area with ink and then remove the card base.  Finally, stamp the sentiment and the floral area directly onto the card base.  As an option, top the card with sequins.

I made a quick video tutorial showing the process for this project.

Ink pad stamp shading ~ deer antler cards.

For Technique Time at Unity, I am showing a way to obtain ink pad shading with two-tone stamping and stamp layers.  This is a no coloring option for stamping.

Sentiments:
Warm wishes.
Sending my thanks.

Here are two cards, made similar with different sentiments.  This involves stamp layering in coordinating colors using ink pad blending.  See below for details and a video tutorial.

Here are helpful tips for creating these cards.  To begin, pre-cut and trim the deer panel and the sentiment panel.  Next, stamp the whole background layer in the lightest shade of gray.  Then, stamp the edges inward on the background in a darker gray, without covering the entire stamp.  Also, stamp the sentiment.  Now, stamp the deer antlers in the center of the background, once with light pink and then around the edges inward in a darker pink.  Finally, layer and assemble the card and embellishments to finish.

Gift Card Holder ~ Day 4 MCT 5 Days of Christmas

Hi there, and welcome to our "5" Days of Christmas"! This week we will be sharing with you LOTS of last-minute Christmas ideas, such as cards, tags, treat holders, gift card holders and whatever else comes to mind that will help YOU get your creative juices flowing.

Today is Day 4 of our 5 Days of Christmas! We all will be showcasing some quick and EASY gift card holders!

Sentiment: May Christmas bring you everything you're wishing for.

Here is a gift card holder with a pocket style. The was die-cut twice, using the Present Box Die with patterned paper. Instead of making a box, I made a flat pocket with the pattern on the front and on the back, folding the edges inward and leaving the top open. The bow trim is also part of the same die set. This can easily be added to a card as a card accent and gift card holder in one. This measures 3" x 4.5", assembled.

Canvas mixed media art with tissue paper and stamping.

For Technique Time at Unity, I am sharing a mixed media art canvas using stamped tissue paper and acrylic paint.

Sentiment:  Love your story.

This is an inspirational themed art canvas with a rustic look.  This involves a few steps.  See below for details and a video tutorial.

Here are helpful tips for creating this canvas.  To begin, stamp tissue paper with selected art or words.  Then, tear the tissue to separate the sections.  Next, mix a dab of acrylic paint into a bit of matte gel for each color.  For ease, use a plastic craft mat or palette to separate colors.  Have on hand a pre-primed stretched canvas or prime a canvas and then leave it to dry.  Next, make a background using swipes of three premixed paint colors.  It helps to use a foam blending brush.  Then, assemble the tissue paper pieces onto the wet paint and then brush each tissue section with uncolored matte gel.  Once that has completely dried overnight, blend distress ink around all edges for a rustic look.  Finally, add your choice of extra embellishments or accents to finish.

I made a quick video tutorial showing the process for this project.

Card ~ Day 3 My Creative Time 5 Days of Christmas 2019

Hello, and welcome to our "5" Days of Christmas"! This week we will be sharing with you LOTS of last-minute Christmas ideas, such as cards, tags, treat holders, gift card holders and whatever else comes to mind that will help YOU get your creative juices flowing.

Today is Day 3 of our 5 Days of Christmas! We all will be showcasing some quick and EASY holiday cards!

Sentiment: Warm wishes for a Merry Christmas.

This card was easier to do than it looks. I used a kraft color top fold card base and then die-cut the lace border onto the front flap. Then, I added a die-cut white insert onto the inside of the card. Patterned paper trimming was added to the top along with a bow strip. The sentiment was heat embossed onto the front. No coloring was needed. The flip-up front looks and feels nice with the lace. I like how it turned out.
